Born the son of an architect, my life has been dominated by the influence of design, nature, and culture. Being more passionate about the space between buildings, I strive to allow the influence of the natural environment push outwards rather than from within. I am a professional landscape architect whose focus is outside; shaping environments that bring enjoyment, scale, and comfort to people who seek the essence of the natural beauty of our great outdoors.
I seek to create uncluttered coherent places and spaces respectful of the physical complexities that a project may impose. I am a strong proponent of hand drawn graphics that quickly and effectively convey a range of design alternatives and encourage client interaction, especially at the conceptual stage of the design process. Having lived, studied, and worked all over the world, I have an extensive memory of countless cultural and design influences. I aspire to understand the physical and cultural influences exerted by any context and translate these into strong and meaningful design solutions.
